Sarah Randall, Psy.D.
“My foremost priority is to provide a caring, respectful response to my clients’ emotional and psychological needs so that honest personal exploration can take place. You will also find that I rely greatly on the curative power of humor and hope…levity helps greatly in the healing process.”
Encouragement and Support
“I will be there to provide encouragement, sincere feedback, and to support you in change with an individualized plan. Once the source of suffering is clearly seen, discussed openly, and solutions are generated, joy and personal growth have the opportunity to return.”
Areas of Expertise:
Perinatal Mental Health: postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, postpartum OCD, postpartum PTSD, baby blues, and miscarriage (loss and grief). Mothers and fathers suffer differently and both deserve compassion and help. Nursing and pumping are welcomed!
Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD): Every life includes tragedy, and some tragedies are traumatic, making it difficult to process and move on. PTSD can be treated and recovered from using specialized, evidence-based therapeutic techniques that encourage post-traumatic growth and wellness.
Mood and Anxiety Disorders: Whether you are experiencing depression, OCD, panic, or Generalized Anxiety for the first time or on an episodic basis, please know that there is hope and treatment to help you live a full life.
Specialized Therapeutic Techniques:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT is a collaborative and structured form of therapy aimed at identifying and decreasing unhelpful thought and behavior patterns and working to build alternative skills and coping strategies.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): ACT is a collaborative therapeutic intervention that helps patients live more meaningfully in the present, having greater freedom to enjoy what they value, and to suffer less when experiencing uncomfortable emotions.
Exposure Therapies: Exposure therapies help people recover through systematically facing their fears and developing counteractive relaxation techniques and coping skills.
In addition to these specialized areas, Dr. Randall also successfully treats depression and other mood disorders, relational co-dependence, anxiety disorders, phase of life transitions, marital problems, self-esteem problems, and academic and career frustrations.
