Anxiety Therapy

Anxiety Therapy

Finding the best anxiety therapy can be daunting. No solution is one-size-fits-all. The most common treatments–psychotherapy and psychopharmacology–work well for most anxiety-sufferers, but some people may either find no relief from these therapies or react negatively to them. To help address the needs of families and individuals in distress, Calabasas Behavioral Health provides a wide range of traditional anxiety therapies, and also offers the innovative approach of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Therapy. To find out which approach to anxiety therapy is best for you, consult the professionals at Calabasas Behavioral Health.

What is Anxiety?

Most people experience some level of anxiety, usually a mild sense of unease about whether you locked the front door or turned off the stove when you left the house. But anxiety can be crippling for some people, causing them so much discomfort that it interferes with their ability to work, sleep, or enjoy leisure activities. Anxiety disorders, which can range from mild to severe, include obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Each of these may require one anxiety therapy or a combination of treatments, both conventional and alternative.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Therapy

Though many people with anxiety respond well to conventional therapy methods, some require an alternative approach. The professionals at Calabasas Behavioral Health are trained to assess patients and create a personalized treatment plan. This plan may include transcranial magnetic stimulation, a non-invasive, non-systemic procedure approved by the FDA for anxiety therapy. For more specific information on anxiety therapy using TMS, please refer to this detailed description.
